Zoom Realtime Quality - When to expect quality data from Zoom Meetings and Calls.

Question

When can we expect quality data from Zoom Meetings and Calls?

Answer

With our Zoom Realtime collection in Tech Insights Monitoring, we have implemented a couple changes based on recent API behavior changes with Zoom. At this point, here is when you can expect to see Quality for both Calls and Meetings in Tech Insights Monitoring with Zoom

Call Data

We should be able to see quality for all Audio and Video calls, but you will not see quality for Control type calls. If you are building dashboards for Zoom Calls, and you don't want to report on the unknown quality control calls, make sure to set a filter of Call Type does not contain Control as shown below for your dashboards and datasets.

Meeting Data

We should be able to see quality data for participants in meetings, however, you are not guaranteed that you will see quality data under the following circumstances:

  1. If the meeting is less than 10 minutes in length, we might not get quality data from the Zoom API
  2. If there is a single participant meeting. We have noticed that when there is a single participant in a meeting, the single participant is a Control type t, which then causes the meeting to show an unknown quality.

For filtering meeting data, please use the following filter if you want to reduce the amount of unknown quality meetings in your datasets and dashboards.

Please note, this is not a guarantee that the above filters will remove all unknown quality of calls and meetings from your datasets and dashboards, but this should reduce the amount of unknown quality if you are seeing a high count with your Zoom realtime collection.
