Question
How can we validate a successful data collection from Zoom in Vyopta?
Answer
Now that you have successfully completed your Zoom collection setup with the Zoom Marketplace, you may want to check that you are successfully collecting data from your Zoom Account.
Zoom Meetings
To validate that you are collecting meeting data, please login to your Vyopta Account and select the Tech Insights Monitoring module.
- In the left Rail, select Datasets and select the Meetings dataset
- In the filter, use "System Type contains ZOOM"
At this point, if you have any active meetings in Zoom, they will appear in the dataset as shown below.
Zoom Participants
Using the Tech Insights Monitoring module, you can also check that you are collecting participant call data for your Zoom Meetings.
- In the left Rail, select Datasets and select the Calls dataset
- In the filter, use "Data Source contains ZOOM"
At this point, if you have any active meetings in Zoom, the participants will appear in the dataset as shown below.
Zoom Rooms
Using the Tech Insights Monitoring module, you can also check that you are pulling in your Zoom Rooms from your Zoom account
- In the left Rail, select Datasets and select the Calls dataset
- In the filter, use "Model contains Zoom Room"
At this point, if you should see your Zoom Rooms as shown below.
Please note: For the final two validation points, we will use our Tech Insights Analytics module. Once you enable your Zoom collector for the first time, it can take up to 48 hours for your Zoom data to show up in this module.
Zoom Users
Using the Tech Insights Analytics module, you can also check that you are pulling in your Zoom Users from your Zoom account
- In the left Rail, select Datasets and select the Users dataset
- In the filter, use "System Type (Acronym) contains Zoom"
At this point, if you should see your Zoom Users as shown below.
Zoom Port usage
Using the Tech Insights Analytics module, you can also check the capacity usage with your Zoom Account.
- In the left Rail, select Dashboards, and select Capacity Dashboard and select a dashboard that you would like to add a trend panel to
- Once you have selected a dashboard, add a Trend Panel (as shown in the screenshot below)
- For the panel options please use the following as shown in the screenshot below
- Select Category - Capacity
- Select Metric (Value) - Concurrent Meeting Peak (by System)
- Select Group - leave the default of (no grouping)
- Select Display Type - leave the default as Area Trend
- Filter, click on the Systems button, and under the section of Bridge, select ZOOM
At this point, you should have a new panel that shows your daily peak concurrent meeting count (like the one below)
