Zoom is making a change to their APIs, but don’t worry we’ve got you covered. Vyopta customers don’t need to do anything to ensure they are leveraging the latest Zoom APIs. Before the end of April, Vyopta will be taking care of the change behind the scenes and will take this opportunity to also move SaaS customers to more efficient cloud-to-cloud collection mechanism for getting Zoom data.
Some additional details:
Zoom announced details for an EOL of their API. What do I need to know?
Zoom has announced that on April 26, 2020, the Zoom V1 APIs will be permanently shut down/terminated and will no longer be in operation. This is automatically being replaced with a Zoom V2 API, which will maintain and enhance the capabilities that you are already getting via Vyopta for your Zoom deployment.
Does this continue to use the existing collector that we have deployed on premises?
Vyopta has developed a more efficient cloud-to-cloud data collection mechanism for Vyopta SaaS customers to collect data from Zoom. As part of this API migration, Vyopta will be taking this opportunity to transition those collecting data from Zoom to this new cloud-to-cloud collection, which does not require any on-premises collector for Zoom cloud integration.
How will this change affect me as a Vyopta SaaS customer? Do I need to change anything on my end?
To continue leveraging Vyopta’s SaaS offering to gather data from Zoom, Vyopta and Zoom admins don’t need to do anything. The same JWT Authentication is used for both the V1 and V2 APIs, so the change will be transparent to Vyopta users, and handled on the backend. The Vyopta Product Support and Customer Success teams will will execute the migration from the backend for each customer organization.
